Welcome from the Principal

For many of us it seems surreal that this year has already begun. While last year came and went so quickly, it was filled with many successes, highs, points of prides, students moving on, and new students coming in. I am so excited that so many new students have decided to join the AAEC family this year. We are all looking forward to what each one of these new students will bring to our school in this new year.

While all the students (and hopefully parents too) have been resting and getting ready for this year, we too at AAEC have been thinking about ways we can improve our school for you. With that in mind you will find that we have made some changes to the schedule, to our school rules, dress code, and other things to better serve you and your students. These can all be found in the handbook here on the school website, and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask us. With this new year and almost 60% more students than last year, comes the need for more teachers. We hope that you will take the time to meet each one of the staff and faculty, especially those new to AAEC Red Mountain. Especially exciting is the addition of Mr. Williams who will serve as the Assistant Principal at Red Mountain. He will assist Mr. Littlefield with all his administrative duties, as well with meeting with students. So if you have any questions meet with one of us and we will help you quicker than ever before.

As much as we at the school can prepare and make sure that we have all of the “academic” items in place, we cannot make this happen without all of you. We want all the students and parents to commit to us and them that this will be their best year ever. If all of you do this, then we will be successful along with you. We want you to be involved, to volunteer anyway that you can. If you would like to help out at the school, at lunch time, be a guest speaker, or just donate time or goods please let us know. The more that parents our involved in the school the better your students will do. As always, you are always welcome to come and visit the school anytime.

So remember, that through our cooperative efforts and hard work, we will all be successful and this will be your best year ever and ours.

About AAEC at Red Mountain Community College

AAEC Red Mountain is the newest campus of the Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center, Inc. High School Sistrict. Located at 2165 N. Power Road, adjacent to Mesa Community College at Red Mountain, our students enjoy the full range of college preparatory classes in English, Math, Science and Social Studies. As in all AAEC high schools, our students at Red Mountain have the benefit of a small-school atmosphere, hands-on instruction, and individual academic plans. Qualified students are able to enroll in tuition-free college courses with our college partner, Mesa Community College, a three-minute walk from our campus. In addition to our challenging curriculum, students have the opportunity to participate in activities such as yearbook, newspaper, student leadership, special interest-clubs, National Honor Society, field day, prom, service learning, and animal science or equine programs. AAEC Red Mountain is dedicated to continuing our sister schools’ tradition of maintaining high standards for literacy, technical competence, mathematical competence and skill, as well as continuing to increase our state test scores, and provide outstanding customer service.
